INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk

  • 4 ounces butter

  • 1/2 cup warm water

  • 1 tsp yeast

  • 1 3/4 cups flour

  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

     

 

DIRECTIONS:

1. Combine the milk and butter in a small pan and heat until the butter melts. Allow to cool. Pour warm water into a cake pan and add yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes or until the yeast dissolves.

2. Combine the flour, salt and sugar. Add to mixture of milk, butter and yeast. Wisk in the 2 eggs and baking soda. Cover and leave at room temperature for 1 1/2hrs.

3. Heat the cake pan in the oven at 350f for 45-90 mins. Check periodically with a toothpick to see if the center is cooked.
